I'm Shaun - a Data and PMO professional.  The joke among family and friends is that I'm Chandler - no one is quite sure what I do (spoiler: I'm not a "transponster"). Hopefully this will make it clearer to them, and more importantly to the hiring managers reading this who are determining why I'd be an asset to their team. I've been fortunate to have a dynamic career that has allowed me to develop through many challenging roles that have, in turn, provided me with a unique skill set. I come to the table with extensive knowledge in data infrastructure and strategy, executive project management, technology operations, and transformation leadership to facilitate integrations.

Prior to transitioning into Operations, I built a strong technical background in programming and database administration. I then transitioned into business/technology operations, concentrating on data quality and data management for many large financial institutions. For the past 9 years, I've held roles in Operations and Technology at S&P Dow Jones Indices. When I arrived as the Chief Data Officer, I was responsible for building a data warehouse - the business unit’s first platform for index data - from the ground up. In developing the division’s first Data Management team and partnering with the IT department, I managed the workflows to move index level & constituent data for 1 million indices from Excel files to Oracle, facilitating data governance and commercial opportunities.  I'm humbled to say that the department ran so well, within a few years I was hardly needed to oversee it. I was promoted to the Head of PMO and Technology Strategy, serving as the bridge between a robust IT department and business stakeholders to transform the way internal technology projects moved through the pipeline from inception to successful completion. A few years later, I took on the role of Transformation Leader and oversaw the intricate project management integration of business operations as S&P Global merged with IHS Markit.

Currently, as I search for the next chapter in my career, I am consulting and completing industry-related continuing education and training. As the world transitions and embraces AI as a tool in the future of complex decision making, I've completed several important AI training courses to learn and understand the many ways this technology can improve business efficiency. I've also completed the Data Privacy and Technology business course from Harvard University to sharpen my understanding of data protection and privacy challenges for businesses. This coursework proved quickly relevant as I recently took on a Market Data Analysis consulting project in order to help the company's business division achieve increased ROI.

When I'm not at my desk, you can find me on a running trail. Running is my therapy - I run 9 miles each day, and during those 9 miles the endorphins kick in and my head clears. I've had the honor of running & completing the New York City Marathon 3 times. Running a marathon teaches you many lessons - setting goals, persistence, overcoming challenges, self-discipline, and understanding the need for support. In the end, it’s not just about finish line - it’s about the training, the journey, and the experience. Similarly, as I complete each new professional training and consulting project on this current journey, I’m excited to bring my collective experience to the next company and add value to their business operations.

In summary - I am many things, but not a transponster.
